Self-Regulating Technology


Raychem RaySol self-regulating electric heat trace cables automatically adjust their power output to compensate for temperature changes. Heat is generated as electric current passes through the conductive polymer core between the conductors. As the temperature drops, the number of electrical paths through the core increases and more heat is viduced. Conversely, as the temperature rises, the core has fewer electrical paths and less heat is produced.

Raychem self-regulating heat trace cables:

  • Can be used for comfort floor heating or radiant space heating
  • Have a cross-linked, conductive polymer core forming a parallel circuit
  • Can be cut  to length, spliced or repaired on site
  • Are protected by a tinned-copper braid encased in a thick modified polyolefin outer jacket, making it rugged enough for all direct buried snow melting and anti-icing applications.
  • Include state-of-the-art connection kits and accessories

Mineral Insulated (MI) Technology

Pyrotenax mineral insulated electric heat trace cables are designed to provide constant power for a wide range of commercial applications.

 
Pyrotenax mineral insulated heat trace cables:
  • Can be used for comfort floor heating or radiant space heating
  • Consist of a single or dual conductor heating element, magnesium oxide insulation, a solid metal sheath, and an extruded high density polyethylene (HDPE) jacket
  • Are supplied as complete factory-fabricated assemblies consisting of a heating section that is joined to a non-heating cold lead and terminated with NPT-threaded connectors.

Advanced Control Systems

Pentair Thermal Management offers two advanced control systems for floor heating systems: the DigiTrace C910 and the DigiTrace ACCS-30. Both electronic controllers are specifically designed for use with both Raychem RaySol self-regulating and Pyrotenax MI heat trace cables.

DigiTrace C910:

  • Is ideal for smaller areas
  • Controls a single heating cable circuit

DigiTrace ACCS-30:

  • Is ideal for large areas, or buildings with multiple heat-tracing applications
  • Can control up to 260 heating cable circuits

Both controllers provide:

  • Multiple temperature inputs
  • Ground-fault protection
  • Monitoring
  • Alarm contacts
  • Building Management System (BMS) integration

Series Resistance Technology


Raychem QuickNet floor heating cables are a dual conductor, low-profile constant wattage technology
  • With a fluoropolymer jacket, surrounded by a mylar foil and ground wires
  • With a fluoropolymer outer jacket that provides both mechanical and chemical protection
  • That generates no measureable amounts of EMF
  

These cables are woven onto an adhesive-backed fiberglass mesh, 3 inches apart, to make up our QuickNet floor heating mats. Raychem QuickNet floor heating mats:


  • Provide uniform comfort heating under ceramic tile or natural stone
  • Are simple and quick to install
  • Are compatible with all standard subflooring material
  • Are low profile to minimize any increase in overall floor height
  • Comes pre-terminated and in various lengths of 20-inch widths for easier installation

In colder areas, (e.g. near doors or windows), more heat is produced.In warm areas, (e.g. in the middle of the room or under carpets and furniture), less heat is produced.
